UPDATE: February 4th, 2015

A new planning application has been made to build a nursing home, a medical centre and a Lidl discount supermarket on this site.  I have made a submission to the council, you can read about it here.

UPDATE: December 15th, 2014

Planning permission for an ALDI supermarket was granted by the council on the 22nd of October. The proposed location is the White and Delahunty Motors site on Pearse Street, Sallynoggin.

This grant of permission has now been appealed by Tesco, Dun Laoghaire Shopping Centre and Supervalu. An Bord Pleanála is due to decide on this case by 1st of April 2015.

UPDATE: May 19th

The application for planning permission at the roundabout has been refused by the council.

The developer may now appeal the roundabout planning decision but has not done so yet. I will keep you informed.

The grounds for refusal were:

  • inadequate standard of design
  • poor mix of uses
  • inefficient use of space
  • the open space and playground were in the wrong location
  • the entrance onto Glenageary Avenue was dangerous

Second planning application for an ALDI

A second planning permission application has been made, this time  by ALDI,  for the White and Delahunty site on Pearse Road, Sallynoggin.
